What this licence coversA Short-term Accommodation is temporary accommodation in all or part of a Dwelling Unit that is provided for 28 consecutive days or less in exchange for payment, including a bed and breakfast. If you rent for longer than 28 consecutive days, you may require a Residential Rental Unit Licence instead.
Your Resident Address"Resident Address" means the Dwelling Unit at which you ordinarily reside — where you habitually sleep, eat, keep your personal effects, receive documentation related to government identification and personal income tax returns, and have a regular place of lodging. You may have only one Resident Address. Your Short-term Accommodation must be at your Resident Address.
Before you begin — limits that apply to every licence• You may operate only one Short-term Accommodation;• You may hold only one Short-term Accommodation Provider Licence;• You may not have an ownership interest in more than one Dwelling Unit operated as a Short-term Accommodation;• You may not operate if another person holds a Provider Licence for the same Dwelling Unit;• You may not offer more than five bedrooms at un-hosted Short-term Accommodation; and,• You may not provide accommodation for more than two individuals per bedroom, not including children under 13 years.
If Yes, you must attach written proof, satisfactory to the Licence Manager, that you have been delegated authority to act as the Applicant's agent. The licence is issued in the Provider's name.
You must provide a local emergency contact who will respond within one hour of contact by a guest during the guest's entire rental period, and who will respond in person on-site within one hour of contact by an Enforcement Officer during a guest's rental period. This may be you.
A maximum of five bedrooms may be offered as un-hosted Short-term Accommodation in a Dwelling Unit. Hosted Short-term Accommodations do not have a room limit.
You may not use a Broker that is not licensed by the City of London.If No, you must promptly issue every guest an invoice, contract or receipt showing your valid licence number, the nightly and total price charged for each rental including any Municipal Accommodation Tax, and any other information prescribed by the Licence Manager.
The Short-term Accommodation Provider Licence fee is $552.00, which includes the cost of the required Property Standards Inspection and Fire Safety Inspection. Fees are not prorated.Every Short-term Accommodation must pass a Property Standards Inspection and a Fire Safety Inspection. After a complete application is submitted, staff will contact you to book them.Operating without a valid Short-term Accommodation Provider Licence carries an Administrative Monetary Penalty of $1,500 for a first contravention, $2,500 for a second, and $5,000 for a third and any subsequent contravention.
